Abstract

Summary – Consciousness, Science and Theology. A Comparison with Lonergan’s Perspective
In the first place, the article wants to present the contribution of Lonergan’s thought, and, above all, of his masterpiece Method in Theology, to a unitary and organic vision of human knowledge. In this regard, particular attention is paid to two themes that characterize Lonergan’s reflection, namely that of the method and that of the human subject. Secondly, it explores the theme of consciousness in the directions of the relationship between consciousness and experience, consciousness and feelings, consciousness and intersubjectivity,
consciousness and faith, making Lonergan’s perspective interact in a fruitful way with other perspectives of different authors (Ladrière, Damasio, Gallese and Rizzolatti, Sequeri) and subjects (phenomenology, neuroscience, theology).
