Una spiritualità del sacrificio oggi?

L’articolo si chiede se sia ancora possibile oggi proporre il tema del sacrificio all’interno del cammino spirituale del cristiano, viste le consistenti obiezioni che sono state poste a questa categoria. Il percorso proposto prende in esame alcuni aspetti della spiritualità di Teresa di Lisieux e di Charles de Foucauld, per poi confrontarli con l’itinerario suggerito da Ignazio di Loyola nei suoi Esercizi spirituali. I risultati conseguiti vengono poi approfonditi attraverso la riflessione di due autori contemporanei. Il sacrificio non può essere il punto di
partenza della spiritualità cristiana, ma trova il suo valore irrinunciabile come espressione e compimento dell’amore.

Summary - A spirituality of sacrifice today?

The article asks whether it is still possible today to propose the theme of sacrifice within the spiritual journey of the Christian, given the consistent objections that have been made to this category. The proposed path examines some aspects of the spirituality of Teresa of Lisieux and Charles de Foucauld, and then compares them with the itinerary suggested by Ignatius of Loyola in his Spiritual Exercises. The results achieved are then deepened through the reflection of two contemporary authors. Sacrifice cannot be the starting point of Christian spirituality, but finds its indispensable value as an expression and fulfillment of love.
