Mente, corpo, contemporaneità
Abstract
Sommario
Summary - Mind, Body, Contemporaneity
This paper discusses some forms of the contemporary mind-body relationship and how it is reflected in people’s lifestyles in society.
Specifically, starting from the problem of many young people who don’t accept their appearance, it presents a theoretical and scientific interpretation of the mind-body relationship in psychology to attempt to propose a deeper approach to the problem of self-image.
The questions guiding the article are the effects of the overuse of images in contemporary society, especially on social media and the internet, particularly on the self-representation of young people and adolescents. It concludes with a proposal for a scientific and theoretical reevaluation of an approach to understanding the mind through the integration of the body, understood as a part of the mind and not merely a container for the brain.
